Sol Kids is a venture, by Sauti Sol. An innovative platform that curates affordable award-winning and accessible Pan African content to inspire leaders of tomorrow.
Africa is the continent with the youngest population worldwide. As of 2022, around 40 percent of the population was aged 15 years and younger compared to a global average of 25 percent. There are over 400
million children currently living on the African continent and the number is rising. According to UNESCO’s recent Global Education Monitoring Report, only 18 percent of all primary-school age children in SubSaharan Africa achieve minimum proficiency in reading and mathematics. The heavy influence of western
media consumed by this growing population has contributed to an identity crisis, loss of culture and heritage and a disconnect between learning and life.
Our passionate response is to raise the literacy levels, change the attitude to learning and create a connection between Academia, Talent, Culture and Life; by consistently creating world class quality content that is contextual, cultural and creative; curated to inspire a generation of leaders, disruptors, critical thinkers, solution providers, innovators and creatives. Leveraging on the global success of the Sauti Sol brand as industry leaders leaving a legacy that has impact and hope for Africa.
Sol Kids Africa seeks to nurture a generation of children, aged 0 to 21, who understand, appreciate and
celebrate the privilege of being African. The goal is Leadership, Empowerment and Accessibility (LEA – Kiswahili word that means to nurture) on the continent and beyond. Our Sol Kids mantra is stories by us, about us, from us, to the world.
